Camille Atkinson

Camille Atkinson began her work as a queer activist with her involvement in the campus LGBT Alliance at Ithaca College, hosting Coming Out days, speaking at rallies, and providing publicity. After attaining a BFA in Acting, Camille moved to New York City and got involved in the LGBT community, producing her own cabaret show at Pieces Bar, hostessing and co-producing the legendary Xena Night at Meow Mix, assisting in organizing the first Marching Xenas contingent in the LGBT Pride March in 1999, and helping out in various capacities at the LGBT Center.

 

Camille is a professional singer and has been performing live in NYC since 2004, with The Push, Changing Modes, and Spray Paint Star; in 2008, she associate-produced and provided vocals for Changing Modes' CD "Down and Out In Shangri-La." She is a member of OutMusic, and continues to lend her voice to various musical projects.
