Jacqueline Gares is a New York-based filmmaker, who joined IN THE LIFE in September 2007 as Coordinating Producer. As a producer, she's worked on television specials and documentaries for the History Channel, Food Network, USA Networks, and The GLAAD Media Awards.
She served as post-production supervisor for the Daytime Emmys and the Tony Awards in 2006 and 2007. Gares has independently produced the documentary UNRAVELED about genetic testing and Alzheimer's Disease; her short film REMNANT won a TELLY Award in 1999.
Between 1997 and 2001, she worked for PBS's premiere non-fiction film
showcase, P.O.V./The American Documentary, in a variety of roles including
Associate Producer. Her work as a video artist in the performance Fidget has
been shown at The Whitney at Philip Morris. Gares has a BA in English
Literature from Rutgers University and an MA in Media Studies from The New
School University.
